Recently, Peru's official newspaper El Peruano?held its 200th anniversary celebration and Award Ceremony for the First "Chinese Culture in Peru" Annual Photography Competition in Lima. CYPC was invited to attend the ceremony and launched the thematic exhibition of "Green Light, Shared Future: CYPC Actions on Sustainability in Peru".
Chinese Ambassador to Peru SONG Yang, Peruvian Congressman & Chairman of the China-Peru Friendship Group Gustavo Cordero Jon Tay, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Peru ZHAO Xiaoming, President of El Peruano Félix Paz, Vice President of CYPI under CYPC & Vice Board Chairman of Luz del Sur QU Weihua, along with guests from political, cultural, and media circles of both countries attended the event and visited the exhibition.
The exhibition displayed over ten representative photographic works. The images captured both the majestic landscapes of photovoltaic arrays on the Majes Plain and hydropower stations along the Urubamba River, as well as heartwarming scenes of Chinese and Peruvian employees celebrating festivals and exchanging cultures. They offer a comprehensive look at CYPC's vivid practices and remarkable achievements since entering the Peruvian market in 2020, including supporting Peru's energy transition while weaving itself into local communities. In this way, these works paint a clear picture of Chinese enterprises' capabilities and commitment to upholding international perspectives, fulfilling social responsibilities, and demonstrating humanistic care. Félix Paz emphasized in his speech his gratitude for CYPC's support of the photography competition, stating that "what connects hearts more powerfully than electric current is cultural resonance and the undertaking of responsibilities."
Against the backdrop of the continuous deepening of China-Peru economic and trade relations, Chinese enterprises in Peru represented by CYPC are achieving a crucial leap from "going global" to "forging strong community ties". In recent years, under the unified deployment of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), CYPC has consistently adhered to win-win cooperation and actively fulfilled social responsibilities, established?the "Three Gorges Scholarship" in Peru for four consecutive years, and continuously organized?cultural brand activities such as the China-Peru Cultural Month themed on "Experiencing Three Gorges, Understanding China" and China-Peru University Cross-cultural Seminars. These efforts promoted?two-way cultural exchange and mutual learning between China and Peru, and fostered?mutual understanding and common development of both cultures.
This exhibition not only comprehensively reviews CYPC's development journey in Peru but also serves as an in-depth dialogue oriented toward the future. As clean energy lights up households across Peruvian, as cultural exchanges bridge the psychological distance between the peoples of both nations, and as community partnerships nurture the dreams of local youth, the understanding and trust between the Chinese and Peruvian peoples are taking?root through these continuous efforts, and will grow steadily like trees and flow endlessly into the future like rivers.
